Attacca Quartet and Theo Bleckmann

401 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA, 94102

Description

The second in a series of three concerts featuring the two-time Grammy® Award-winning Attacca Quartet, a true quartet for modern times. Gliding through traditional classical repertoire to electronica, video game music, and a who’s who of contemporary collaborations, they are one of the world’s most innovative and respected ensembles. 🎻✨🎮

The Quartet pairs up with highly acclaimed multi-Grammy® nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann for this performance. 🎤🤝⭐

Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang has combined and reimagined three texts by iconic Japanese novelist Ryunosuke Akutagawa (Rashomon) in note to a friend. Originally commissioned as a one-person opera by the Japan Society in New York and the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan center in Japan, this haunting monodrama addresses eternal human fascinations with death, love, family, and suicide. 🖋️🌙🎭
